Shawn Talpey

Shawn Talpey launched his marine industry career in 2009 after spending 14 years in key leadership roles in the automotive industry. Prior to launching Emerald Coast Marine in 2015 with Keri Doscher, he served in several key management capacities with a multi-dealership marine organization including positions as general sales manager, director of sales and general manager. During his leadership and tenure, the retailer earned the Boating Industry Magazine #1 Dealer national ranking for two consecutive years, followed by induction into the Top 100 Hall of Fame, a distinction earned by only few dealers throughout North America. While Shawn was very proud of this major accomplishment, he had a vision to provide a superior, more customer-centric marine experience for boaters along the Emerald Coast. In 2015, Shawn shared this vision with ECM Co-Founder Keri Doscher, which led to the launch of Emerald Coast Marine Group.  Today, Shawn is actively engaged in and oversees a diverse Emerald Coast Marine Group portfolio which includes Emerald Coast Marine Sales and Service, Emerald Coast Marina, Emerald Coast Yacht Club, Emerald Coast Boat Club and Emerald Coast Marine Management Company. His passion for the boating lifestyle is not only evident in his career, but also extends into his personal life.  Shawn, along with his high school sweetheart Kelly and daughter Cameron, spend most of their family time together on the water.  In addition to his love for the water, he also enjoys aviation and is a licensed pilot.   Shawn attributes ECM’s continued growth and success to the established vision and culture of the company, coupled by the unwavering loyalty and dedication of his team who embrace and live it 24/7.
